Houston, Now With Less Cancer!

If you've followed along my blog you occasionally may have read about my repeated trips to MD Anderson for my treatment and follow up of a rare form of cancer, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (yes, even the name sounds shitty).  After radiation 2 years ago, I have remained "disease free," not that it won't return but currently I have the all clear to live it up.

I've gone every 4 months for a year and a half and this past week we began our trek again.  We actually like LOVE Houston.  My best friend from grade school lives there and we catch up, we shop (some of the best thrift stores happen to be right around MD Anderson), and most importantly we eat really, really well!  This trip - we squeezed in 2 days and did it all and the final outcome of my tests were so good that my doctor has given me the ok to return in 6 months, instead of 4!  We actually sat there, probably to my doctor's shock, "really, we can come back sooner???".  We may return before November as my BFF is expecting triplets!  (you may have noticed when I posted my tutorial for crochet preemie hats...that these wee ones were the inspiration).  So, it will be  quite a treat to visit Houston for three new sweet reasons instead of nasty cancer!

sadly he was not allowed to come home with me. I was allowed to snap ONE pic of C & panda[/caption]

has the most incredible gourmet burgers!
This is a blue cheeseburger with sweet potato fries.[/caption]

One location exist in Houston (now on the same street as Beck's).
Best. Spices. Ever.[/caption]
